Since 2015 Motueka Cricket Club has been used as an outlet for an international New Zealand Work Visa Scam. We are just one of many New Zealand clubs targeted.

While we have tried our hardest to inform individuals before they have been scammed, on occasion some have been unlucky 

We have had contact from over 50 individuals who have used an appointed agent. These agents claim they are working on behalf of MCC or as a middleman. They often charge over $10,000 and confiscate passports.

Victims of this scam have been reported from: 

• India
• Pakistan
• Bangladesh
• Nigeria

Motueka Cricket Club does not appoint agents to find workers or overseas players. Simply put we don't need any. We are a small club from a small town that is run by unpaid volunteers.

If any agent offers to find you work at MCC it is fake. All documentation is fake. 

If you have been a victim to one of these agents you will need to contact your local authorities.
